Alabama Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Pain
-Personal Testimony-
Dr. Alex Childs is the absolute BEST DOCTOR ON THE PLANET. He is the epitome of what every other dr & human for that matter, should strive to towards.
Referred to him over 15yrs ago (2013) for Endometriosis/Pelvic Pain, he came highly recommended as the BEST EVER and still today, 2026, holds this honor.
He’s performed many successful surgeries on me, and more scheduled for the near future. I’ve never in my life of pelvic pain suffering, had a Dr that actually CARED about getting you WELL, so as to NOT need to see them in the future.
First & foremost his very first order of business is asking if you mind if he prays over you— if you do mind, there’s no offense taken. I myself was blessed!!! I love that my Dr prays over me. Himself. His staff. The surgical team. Dr. Childs is truly a man of God and it’s very apparent in his walk, his talk, his overall demeanor & being.
I feel blessed every time I get the chance to be in his presence.

-Appointments-
All this being said you’ll probably need a referral to see him, and when you get it expect to NOT SEE HIM FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. This man is very busy as he’s the ONLY dr of his kind in the South. I made an appointment in February, he was booked out until January the following year. Good news tho!! Yes- there’s a cancellation list, and yes, they DO CALL with cancels!! However most of the time it’s relatively fast like the following day & you'll need to be available/flexible.

For whatever pelvic pain issues you’re having Dr. Childs is an expert in his field & I highly recommend & suggest him to ANYONE having these related issues.
He is truly a Blessing!!!

Dr. Childs and his NP Melissa are literal angels. They are so caring, kind, and helpful. The medical assistants, front desk ladies, and everyone in between are all fantastic too. I couldn’t be happier as a patient.
